Sustainability Group – Small Action: Big Effect
You may have seen new notices appear by the light switches in all your classroom. This has been as a result of the Futures Club (Formerly Gifted and Talented Club) forming a Sustainabilty Group as part of That Eco Thing taking on the challenge of how we can make our school more sustainable. We carried out the Eco-Schools Audit to discover how environmentally sound we currently are. We then used the results to decide what plan of action we should take. We decided that we should research and campaign for an increase in renewable energy in the college as a long term strategy. We also decided that action we could take immediately would be to encourage better behaviour in our current use of electricity in the college. In our audit we discovered many classrooms had no light switch notices and many lights were still left on even after school. So we decided to design some new notices asking people to switch off the lights and electrical devices when they were not being used. If every body changes their behaviour in a small way such as switching off lights in classrooms (and even turning tvs off standby at home) it will have a positive effect on our elecricity consumption and will start to make an impact in our effort to combat climate change. Will you do your bit?

NOW! everyone! turn out the lights!
**** i can’t see!
xD
Anyway, on a serious note; your idea is fantastic, if someone turns out a light they are saving money and they are saving valuble energy. Just one simple action will help save this Earth!
Thankyou Neale-Wade for caring about Me- The Earth (you know the planet that you live on)
Now, Turn Off that Light. Close That Door. Now That’s Better.
Thankyou, v(^__^)v
